The third China Xinjiang International Engineering Machinery, Construction Machinery and Transport Vehicles, International Mining and Technology Equipment Expo, hosted by the Xinjiang Economic and Information Commission, Transportation Department, and other departments, opened in Urumqi on the 18th. A total of 212 companies participated in the exhibition, including Terex, XCMG, Luda Construction Machinery, Guangdong Hongda, Gezhouba Yipuli, and Meilian Heavy Industry from the world's top 50 engineering machinery companies.
Li Bing, general manager of the international marketing company of Henan Luda Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., stated in an interview that within two to three years, the company has sold more than 30 large equipment units in Kazakhstan, with 70% sold through local agents in Xinjiang. The company's subsidiary in Kazakhstan accounts for 30%. The development prospects of Xinjiang are enormous with obvious geographical advantages. Kazakhstan also has tax exemptions for foreign trade with several Central Asian countries; therefore, Xinjiang is becoming a springboard for mainland Chinese enterprises to enter Central Asia.
Due to its large business volume in Kazakhstan, the company also announced at the expo that it is recruiting a marketing director.
Diao Mingxia, chairman of Zibo Dali Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. from Shandong Province, also believes that Xinjiang has obvious geographical advantages that will facilitate the company's entry into the Central Asian market and expand its local market share.
Shandong Energy Machinery Group has directly established a manufacturing base for mining coal chemical equipment in Xinjiang while simultaneously seeking opportunities in Central Asian countries.
The Xinjiang Work Symposium held in 2010 proposed to increase efforts to implement border opening policies and accelerate logistics corridor construction between Xinjiang and inland as well as neighboring countries. It aims to make Xinjiang an important gateway and base for China's opening up.
Xinjiang is located in the central part of Eurasia at China's northwestern border. It shares borders with eight countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Mongolia, India, and Afghanistan; thus it has significant geographical advantages.
